This diagram illustrates the different groups involved in the governance process.

The first group is,

The Consultation Council

• Totally inclusive membership
• Scope
  • Animal health and welfare issues and perspectives
• Meets semi-annually plus teleconferences

This then goes to,

The Decision Making Forum

• Chairperson elected by consultation council
• 10 members with authority to make and implement decisions
• Meets monthly and as needed

There is also the

• Sub-committees to address specific issues
• The Secretariat

• Five members representing the private sector
